BEFORE ROWING!!
- STRETCH, especially your hamstrings and shoulders/obliques
- TAKE A WATER BOTTLE, you can dehydrate quickly out on the water.
- DON'T FORGET A HAT & SUNGLASSES, it's can be very bright on the water.
|
WHEN BOATING!!
- BEWARE THE MUD AT LOW TIDE, slippery and sticky!
- PROTECT THE FIN AT THE STERN, small waves can bounce the boat & the concrete slabs are unforgiving.
- DON'T LEAVE THE BOAT UNATTENDED, small waves can appear very quickly and do damage!
|
HEADING OUT/HEADING HOME!!
- BEWARE THE CURRENTS AT HIGH TIDE, NEAR THE OCEAN ENTRANCE - they can be quite strong
- AIM BETWEEN THE JETTY AMD THE LEFT-MOST POLE, then row around second pole and head west up the channel.
- NB. THE SMALL ISLAND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RIVER, row upstream to the land side of it, row back on the
seaward side of it.
- HEAD TO THE DOCK ROUND THE SAME LARGE POLES NEXT TO THE JETTY, to miss all the buoys.
- AGAIN, DON'T LEAVE THE BOAT UNATTENDED, small waves can appear very quickly and do damage! - PLEASE WASH THE BOAT/BLADES WITH FRESH WATER, inside and out, to avoid corrosive salt build up.
There is a bucket and cloths in the trailer.
THANK YOU!!
